Do not trust links blindly. Verify the sender, destination, and request before entering information or downloading files.
- Check the destination. Hover a link and read the real address before you click. On mobile, press and hold to preview it.
- Check the sender. A familiar display name is not proof. Look at the full address, and confirm through a channel you already trust.
- Check the request. Urgency, secrecy, and unexpected attachments are the common pressure tactics.
- Never enter credentials from a link. Navigate to the site yourself and sign in the way you normally would.
